Michael Palin is an English actor, comedian, writer, and television presenter. He is best known for being a member of the Monty Python comedy troupe. Following his success with Monty Python, Palin went on to write and star in a number of television shows, including Ripping Yarns, The Missionary, A Fish Called Wanda, Fierce Creatures and The Palin Papers. He also wrote and directed several films. In addition, Palin is known for his successful career as a travel presenter, appearing in several travel television series such as the BBC's Around the World in 80 Days, Pole to Pole, Full Circle with Michael Palin, Himalaya with Michael Palin, Sahara with Michael Palin and New Europe with Michael Palin. He has also written numerous books describing his travels.
