Barter has won acclaim for her honest emotive songwriting, with her lyrical style often described as melancholic and thought-provoking. She has toured extensively in Australia, the USA, the UK, Europe, and Asia, and has supported the likes of Cat Power, Dan Croll, and Alex Lahey. Her music has been streamed millions of times and she has earned awards such as the Independent Music Award for Best Female Artist.
