Bananagun is a psychedelic solo act from Melbourne, Australia, with the artist calling themselves a “tropical-psych songsmith.” They are well-known for their upbeat, lively sound, creating an intricate and highly unique musical landscape. Their music is constructed around vintage yet modern instrumentation, such as organs, flutes and harpsichords. Bananagun's debut album, 'The True Story of Bananagun', was released in 2020 to critical acclaim, gaining the artist international attention. In 2021, they were nominated for an Australian Music Prize (AMP) for 'Best Independent Album'. They have become a popular live act in recent years, performing with bands such as King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Tame Impala.
