BoDeans are an American rock band from Waukesha, Wisconsin, best known for their hit single "Closer to Free". Formed in 1983, the band consists of founding members Kurt Neumann (vocals, guitar) and Sam Llanas (vocals, guitar). They are currently recording and touring with original drummer Kenny Aronoff and long-time bassist Robert Jacobson.

Though the band is generally categorized as alternative rock, they incorporate elements of such genres as folk-rock, roots rock, power pop, and Americana. BoDeans have released twelve studio albums, four live albums, and thirteen compilation albums.

BoDeans have had hits on both traditional radio and MTV—most notably "Closer to Free" and "Only Love". The band has also had their music played on the TV show Party of Five and various other soundtracks. The BoDeans have toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan
