Marc Piñol is a Catalan music artist and composer from Barcelona. He is most well known for his fusion of Spanish, Mediterranean, and African styles into a unique post-modern sound. He started his career in the late 1990s, writing and producing for other Spanish music artists. In 2010 he released his debut solo album "Escola de Vent", which made him an instant success in his homeland of Spain. His follow-up album "Relaciones Enterradas" debuted at number one on the Spanish album chart and was widely acclaimed by music critics. His most recent album, "El Fénix", was released in 2018 and combines lyrical melodies with complex instrumentation, drawing inspiration from modern jazz, R&B, and electronica. Piñol has also received numerous awards, including the "Best International Album" nod at Spain's important Cadena Ser Awards.
