Source Direct is a drum and bass group from the United Kingdom. It formed in 1994, and is made up of Jonny L and Phil Aslett. Source Direct pioneered a style of atmospheric jungle that is characterized by slow tempos, tight production and a futuristic sound. One of their best known tracks is 1996's “Secret Liaison”, which was featured on Goldie's album "Timeless". Source Direct have continued to be prolific and influential, consistently releasing material and remixing songs since the late 1990s. They also played a pivotal role in the emergence of techstep, as the genre shifted from a heavily hip-hop influenced sound, to a more dancefloor-oriented style.
