Tuff City Kids is an electronic music production duo hailing from Leipzig, Germany, consisting of Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer. The two artists have been creating melodic club music together since 2013. The pair produce dance music that spans indie dance, house, disco, and techno, with influences from balearic and electro. They work as a duo and as individuals. As a duo they have released EPs on labels such as Permanent Vacation and Printworks. As individuals they have released a lot of music on labels such as Clone, Hot Creations, Krankhaus, and many more. Their music is known for relying heavily on classic synthesizers and sampling which give it a unique sound. They have also done remixes for artists such as Paul Kalkbrenner, Caribou and GusGus.
