Rick Maia is a Brazilian artist who has been making music since the 1990s. He is a multi-instrumentalist who often shows off his saxophone virtuosity. His eclectic style combines elements of Bossa Nova, Samba and Jazz. In 2013, he released his first album, Gueto do Samba, which was produced in collaboration with the legendary Brazilian musician Chico Science. The album was well-received by critics, and was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album. Rick followed this success with his second album, Mr. Maia, in 2015, which he wrote and produced himself. He continues to play around the world, produce music, and collaborate with other Brazilian artists.
