Alicia Villarreal is a successful Latin-American musical artist known for her mastery of Tejano and traditional Mexican genres. Throughout her career she has proven to be a gifted interpreter of traditional music as well as a talented composer and lyricist. She gained popularity in the early '90s with her band Grupo Limite founded alongside her brother. After signing with EMI Latin Records in 1997, she released her self-titled debut album that was certified multiple-platinum in the USA and launched her career to international stardom. Alicia is recognized by both her original songs and covers of American rock hits in a "mexicanizada" version. As of 2020, she has released six music albums to critical acclaim.
