Rick Wilhite, also known as "The Godson of House Music", is an American house music producer and DJ from Detroit, Michigan. He is a founding member of the revered Underground Resistance crew, helping to define the sound of the Detroit electronic music movement. Wilhite is highly respected for his DJ sets and his own productions, which have been released on labels such as Paxico, Third Ear Recordings, and his own label Apron Records. Through his record label, Wilhite has released compilations such as 'And The Melody Still Lingers On, Part 1', which highlights classic Detroit house music from the mid-90s. Wilhite has toured the world, playing packed club shows and music festivals, and has continually pushed new sounds in house music through his extended sets and unique blend of influences.
