About Franz Ferdinand

Franz Ferdinand are a Scottish indie rock band formed in Glasgow, Scotland, in 2002. The group's core members are lead singer Alex Kapranos, bassist Robert Hardy, drummer Paul Thomson, and guitarist Nick McCarthy. The band gained mainstream popularity in 2004 after the release of their eponymous debut studio album, which won the Mercury Prize. The album contained the top 10 single "Take Me Out", which won a Brit Award for Best Single.

The band released several more albums, each building on their unique synth-pop sound, including You Could Have It So Much Better (2005), Tonight: Franz Ferdinand (2009), Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action (2013), and Always Ascending (2018). Franz Ferdinand have also been nominated for numerous awards, including multiple Grammy Award nominations, and the BRIT Award for Best Group in 2006. They have performed live worldwide, appearing in major festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading, and COACHELLA
