Thomas Brinkmann is an experimental music artist and DJ from Germany. He is best known for his original and innovative electronic music approach through the use of early sampling and looping techniques. In addition to his work in the music realm, Brinkmann is also a key figure in the development of contemporary minimal techno. He began producing music in the late 1980s, releasing his first album in 1991. Over the years, he has crafted several critically acclaimed albums, such as 'Studio 1' (1999) and 'Plays' (2004). Brinkmann continues to collaborate with other electronic innovators such as Max Loderbauer and Ricardo Villalobos. He has released over 11 albums, including several remix compilations, and continues to tour extensively.
