Cecilie Nordahl Bernhoft, also known as Bernhoft, is a Norwegian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music producer and poet. He originally released his debut album Ceranic in 2005 under the name of Cecilie Norby, but decided to switch to his surname in later releases in order to clash more with the American music scene. He has earned several awards for his music, including two Norwegian Grammy Awards for Best Male Solo Artist. Bernhoft released his fourth solo album, Solidarity Breaks in 2013, which earned him an even wider audience and showed a more experimental approach to music. He is currently signed to Universal Music Norway and his seventh studio album, Encore, is due to be released in 2021. Bernhoft is highly acclaimed for his live performances, which emphasize improvisations and feature his patent vocal work.
