The Pimps of Joytime is an American funk and soul band from Brooklyn, NY led by band-leader and frontman Brian J. The group infuses a variety of genres of music into their own signature brand of soul. Their unique sound rising from funk to afrobeat to soul, incorporates an eclectic mix of soulful vocals, tight rhythms and horn arrangements.
Their mix of soul and rock has taken them around the country as headlining acts, including main stage sets at Bonnaroo, Jam Cruise, and The House of Blues. To date, The Pimps of Joytime has released four studio albums – each one pushing their signature music into new directions. Their fourth album, "Third Wall Chronicles," is the band's most acclaimed album yet with critics giving it glowing reviews.
