About Amorphis

Amorphis is a progressive metal band from Finland. It was formed in 1990 by guitarist/vocalist Tomi Koivusaari, bassist Olli-Pekka Laine, and drummer Jan Rechberger. The band has released fourteen studio albums, two live albums, and two EPs. Their latest full-length album was released in 2020.

The band's musical style has evolved over time from death metal to a more progressive sound focused on the themes of Finnish mythology. Amorphis has steadily achieved success and recognition both in its native Finland and throughout the world, becoming one of the most successful and influential progressive metal bands in the world.

Their single, Black Winter Day, was nominated for a Grammy in Finland in 1996. Their 2009 album Skyforger topped the Finnish chart and was nominated for a nomination for a Grammy in Finland in 2014.
