Boris is a Japanese experimental music group that has been active since 1992. Its current line-up consists of Atsuo, Takeshi, Wata, and Taro. Over the years, the band has changed sounds drastically, with anything from metal to psychedelic rock. They are known for incorporating elements of drone, noise, punk, and folk, as well as more traditional approaches to rock music. Boris has released over twenty studio albums, as well as many collaborative albums and EPs, and has seen a great deal of success among the underground music scene. The band has been lauded for their live performances, and have gained a reputation for their almost trance-like hypnotic quality. They’ve been active for over twenty years, and show no signs of slowing down.
