Eric Benet is an award-winning R&B and soul singer-songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was signed to Warner Brothers Records in 1996 and released his self-titled debut album the same year. The album was a hit, spawning four singles and earning Benet a Best New Artist Soul/R&B nomination at the Soul Train Music Awards. In 1999, Eric released his second album, A Day in the Life, which was nominated for several Grammy awards. He earned his first Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 2002. In addition to his solo work, Eric has written and collaborated with numerous artists including Prince and India Arie. He is currently working on his seventh studio album which is set to be released later in 2020.
