Gabrielle Aplin is an English singer-songwriter from Wiltshire. She became popular in 2012 when her cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood's 'The Power of Love' was released as part of a John Lewis advertising campaign. Her debut album 'English Rain' was released shortly after in May 2013 peaking at number 2 in the UK. It featured singles 'Please Don't Say You Love Me' and 'Panic Cord'.

In 2016, she released her second album entitled 'Light Up The Dark' which reached number 5 in the UK charts. The singles from this album achieved success with 'Miss You' and 'Salvation' reaching the top 10 in the UK singles chart. Her third album 'Dear Happy' was released in January 2020. Her songwriting and singing style is often centred around emotion and has been described as 'vulnerable, honest and direct'.
