Lera Lynn is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actress based in Nashville, Tennessee. After gaining notoriety with her debut EP Have You Met Lera Lynn (2012), Lynn has released three studio albums and collaborated with the likes of John Paul White, Shovels & Rope, Ruston Kelly, and The War and Treaty. Lynn has received critical acclaim for her powerful, emotive vocals and innovative blend of Texas-style folk and sultry blues. Her most recent project, 2017’s Plays Well With Others, is a collaborative effort, and includes contributions from Dylan LeBlanc, Jason Isbell, Harrison Whitford, and others. Since 2015, Lera Lynn has appeared in the HBO drama True Detective, and has composed songs for the show’s soundtrack. She has also written the soundtracks for various films like Boys State and Obvious Child.
