Makossa (NL) is the pseudonym of Dutch music producer and remixer Niels Hoven. He started his career as a DJ in 2003 and quickly developed his eclectic style which includes a mix of rhythms and genres. He has produced music for multiple labels including Warner Music, Spinnin' Records and Sony Music.

The artist is particularly known for the release of his album 'Contraband', in 2014 which showcased his unique blend of house, funk, reggae and soul. His sound has also been described as having influences from 90s European and American dance music.
