Omar Souleyman is a Syrian musician and singer of Dance-oriented ' dabke' folk music. He gained international fame when a number of his tracks appeared on compilations such as Sublime Frequency. He began his career as a wedding singer and has released over 500 albums and 500 singles. He has collaborated with some of the most respected artists in diverse styles of music such as Bjork, Modeselektor and Four Tet. Omar Souleyman continues to perform around the world, including his recent tour as a special guest of Philarmonique de Paris. His 2019 album, To Syria With Love, showcased his continued commitment to the Arabic culture. He continues to strive for a peaceful world and social justice.
