The Black Angels are a psych rock band from Austin, Texas, formed in 2004. They are known for their fuzzy, fuzzy freak-outs, heavy drumming, and brooding vocals. Their blend of 60s psychedelia and garage rock has been a major influence in the modern psych scene. They have released five albums, Passover (2006), Directions To See A Ghost (2008),Phosphene Dream (2010), Indigo Meadow (2013), and Death Song (2017). They have toured extensively throughout Europe and the US, and have opened for acts such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sonic Youth, Queens of the Stone Age, and more. They have also made appearances on late-night television, including Late Show with David Letterman and Conan.
