Tower of Power is a soul and funk band from Oakland, California. They have been making music since 1968 when the band was founded by Emilio Castillo and Stephen Kupka. Tower of Power is renowned for their signature horn-based sound and have toured extensively around the world. They have developed a strong ‘funk’ style that is recognized widely in the music industry. Tower of Power has also had success with pop hits such as "What is Hip?" and "You're Still a Young Man”. The band has recorded 18 albums, with their most recent release, ‘The Great American Soulbook’, released in 2020.
