Alvin Youngblood Hart is an American blues singer and guitarist who has combined a range of musical styles including traditional blues, punk rock, country, and heavy metal. Born in Oakland, California, Alvin Youngblood first began playing music as a teenager, learning guitar from his father. His career began in 1990 with the first of several albums, Big Mama's Door and his mainstream career took off in 1996 with his major label debut, Motorcycle Son. Over the course of his career, he has released 8 studio albums, ranging from his acoustic Traditional Country-styled album, Down in the Alley to his hard rock-oriented album, Territory. He has made appearances on a number of compilations and live albums, as well as taking home a Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Album in 2000 for his album Start with the Soul. Alvin Youngblood Hart's music continues to be admired and enjoyed both domestically and abroad.
