Field Music is an English indie rock band formed in 2004 by brothers Peter and David Brewis. They are based in Sunderland, England, and often collaborate with other North Eastern England-based bands such as Maxïmo Park, The Futureheads, and a number of other acts. Field Music's music combines elements from indie pop, classical and art rock, and the brothers are known for their intricate andsometimes complexly arranged songs. Their debut album, a self-titled release, was recorded in the brothers' bedroom and released in 2005. Since then, Field Music have released seven more full-length albums, including Measure (2010) and Commontime (2016). The band's later works have strayed further into other genres, as they have experimented with baroque-pop, jazz, and synth-pop. Field Music have become staples of the British indie rock scene and have won critical acclaim from a variety of publications, including NME, Uncut, and The Guardian
