Julie Fowlis is an award-winning Scottish musician and singer, known for her mastery of the traditional Gaelic language. Fowlis has released seven solo albums, in both English and Gaelic, since her debut album in 2004. She has also collaborated with international musicians in jazz, classical, and folk settings. Fowlis has won numerous awards including the 'Feis Ile' Gaelic Singer of the Year, and a BBC Radio Scotland’s ‘Young Traditional Musician of the Year’. She has composed music for films, television and theatre, and has also been heavily involved in a wide range of Gaelic-related projects. Fowlis has been an ambassador for countless initiatives devoted to the revitalisation of the Gaelic language and culture and is an incredible advocate for traditional music.
