About The Style Councillors

The Style Councillors avatar

The Style Councillors were an English band formed in 1983 and disbanded in 1989. The members included Paul Weller, of The Jam fame, along with Mick Talbot, Steve White and Dalton Grant. The band blended soul, pop, and dance and achieved their greatest success in the UK where they had three UK Top 20 singles. They released one studio album The Cost of Loving, written and produced by Weller himself, and a few other tracks and compilations. Despite their moderate success the band never gained widespread commercial success, but their influence on music and fashion remains strong.
