About Vasily Petrenko
Vasily Petrenko is a Russian conductor and one of the most sought-after and highly-rated conductors of his generation. He has extensive experience in the world's leading professional orchestras, including directing the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra from 2006-2014 and the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra from 2015-2021. He has also led the London Philharmonic Orchestra as Principal Conductor since 2007. Vasily Petrenko's repertoire includes contemporary and modern works, including music from composers such as Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Prokofiev, Brahms and Rachmaninoff. Furthermore, Vasily has also performed a large selection of operatic works as well as ballets, spans the entire range of Russian classical music – from Tchaikovsky to Shostakovich, and from Mussorgsky to Prokofiev.
