William The Conqueror is a British band consisting of vocalist and songwriter Ruarri Joseph, bassist Harry Harding and drummer Naomi Holmes. The band takes its name from William The Conqueror, a 12th century ruler of England. Influenced by classic artists such as Neil Young and Johnny Cash, the band creates folk rock and Americana inspired music. The band’s debut album Bleeding on the Soundtrack was released in 2017 to positive reviews and their second album, Proud Disturber of the Peace, was released in 2019. They have gone on tour several times to promote their albums, playing at venues in Europe, the US and Australia. William The Conqueror continue to make music and tour today.
