Yonder Mountain String Band is an American bluegrass-style band made up of four members. Founded in 1998 in Colorado, the band has toured extensively in the United States and Europe. The group utilizes traditional bluegrass techniques such as improvisation and tight vocal harmonies, but also includes rock, experimental, or even funk-influenced elements in their music. Yonder Mountain String Band has released six full-length albums on their own label Frog Pad Records. In addition to their studio recordings, the band is known for their energetic live shows and elaborate stage show. They have also played at music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Wakarusa, and Telluride Bluegrass Festival.
