Rachel Baiman is an American folk musician and songwriter based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Her musical style is a unique blend of roots, folk, and bluegrass, all woven together by her emotionally evocative songwriting. Baiman started out by touring the US with a folk trio, followed by her latest solo album Shame, a concept-record about systemic injustice and the wickedness of inequality. Much of her work resonates with the modern-day civil rights movement. Her activism extends to her onstage presence with her live shows, which frequently focus on environmental and social justice issues. Baiman has shared the stage with the likes of Willie Nelson, Andrew Bird, and Emmylou Harris, and has appeared on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert and Mountain Stage.
