About The Temptations

The Temptations are an American soul group formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1960. They rose to fame as one of the most successful acts with the Motown record label. The act consists of five male vocalists: Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, and Elbridge Bryant. A sixth member, Sanders, joined the group in 1964. The Temptations have released four platinum albums and thirteen gold albums. They have produced numerous hits, some of the most popular being "My Girl," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," "Just My Imagination," and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone." The Temptations are also known for their smooth choreography and synchronized dance moves as they perform on stage in their colorful attire. The group has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
