Chris Thile is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer, and composer. He is best known for his work in the acoustic trio Nickel Creek and the progressive acoustic group Punch Brothers. Thile is also an accomplished mandolin player, performing and recording with a variety of musicians spanning multiple genres. He has collaborated with artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Brad Mehldau, and many more. Thile has received numerous accolades throughout his career. In 2015, he won the Pulitzer Prize for Music for his album, "Bach: Sonatas and Partitas, Vol. 1." He has also been the recipient of four Grammy Awards. Thile is a highly sought-after composer and performer, and his compositions have been recorded by numerous artists. He has recorded and released several solo albums and collaborated with a diverse group of artists, including composer and producer Stuart Duncan. In addition to his music career, Thile is an educator and a radio and podcast host.
