Chrisette Michele is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter. Born in New York City in 1982, she was signed to the major record label Motown at the age of 19 and as since released five albums and a number of singles. She has collaborated with artists such as Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Drake, and Nas. In her career, she's achieved 8 Grammy nominations, a Soul Train Music Awards nomination, and three NAACP Image Awards. In 2012, she won a Grammy Award for the song "Be OK" featuring will.i.am. Chrisette has also co-written and collaborated with other artists, including Mariah Carey and Jennifer Hudson, and has featured on the Grammy-nominated soundtrack Dreamgirls. She has performed on a variety of television shows, including the BET Awards, Oprah, and Good Morning America.
