Cody Canada is an American singer-songwriter best known for his time as lead singer and main songwriter of the rock band Cross Canadian Ragweed. Formed in early 2000, the band rose to prominence in the Texas and Oklahoma music scene during the 2000s with their signature red dirt brand of country-rock. Their widespread success spawned several hit singles, most notably "Alabama," "Girl Like You," and "Sick and Tired," and six Top 10 albums on the US Country Charts. Following Cross Canadian Ragweed's dissolution in 2009, Canada created the alternative country group Cody Canada and the Departed in 2011. Since then, he has released two albums with The Departed, his solo debut Idaho and the retrospective This Is Indian Land, all to critical acclaim. Canada is a songwriter for Universal Music Publishing Group and has toured extensively as a solo artist and with his current band.
