About Hail the Sun

Hail the Sun is an American post-hardcore band from Chico, California. Formed in 2009, the band consists of Donovan Melero on vocals/drums, Aric Garcia on guitar/vocals, Shane Gann on guitar, and John Stirrat on bass. After self-producing and releasing their debut EP, Culture Scars, in 2009, Hail the Sun released their debut full-length album, Wake, in 2010. Their most recent full-length album, Mental Knife, was released in 2018. Their distinct sound incorporates progressive, post-hardcore, and experimental elements into their heavy, emotive music. Hail the Sun continues to tour internationally, captivating new audiences and gaining a loyal fan base.
