Lights, born ValerieAnne Poxleitner, is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician from Toronto. She embarked on her musical journey as a teenager, releasing her first album The Listening in 2009. She followed this up with her acoustic-oriented album Siberia in 2011, which reached number 2 on the Canadian charts and attracted a much larger and international audience.

In 2013, Lights released her third studio album Siberia Acoustic, which featured acoustic and alternate mixes of songs from Siberia and her fourth studio album, Little Machines, released the same year. Little Machines debuted at number 6 on the Canadian charts and was certified Gold in Canada, while also delivering Lights an Juno Award and three additional nominations.

Lights has released two additional albums, Skin and Shoulders and We Were Here, as well as four EPs and multiple singles. She has toured across the world, playing festivals such as Warped Tour, Coachella, Ripple Music Fest, and Firefly Music
