Makaya McCraven is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, dj, and composer from Chicago, Illinois. He’s known for his unique approach to creating music – blending jazz, hip-hop, soul, and electronic music into his signature sound. He draws from a wide range of influences from the global music scene. Along with his own projects and collaborations, he has produced tracks for over 30 albums. McCraven has had notable releases with iconic labels such as International Anthem, Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings, and XL Recordings. Some of his most notable albums include: Universal Beings, In the Moment, and Where We Come From. He has toured extensively in Europe, Asia, and North America, and performed at several jazz festivals including Newport Jazz, EFG London Jazz Festival, and Sziget.
