About Mike & the Mechanics

Mike & The Mechanics are an English rock supergroup formed in 1985 by former Genesis guitarist Mike Rutherford, keyboardist/vocalist Paul Carrack, and drummer/vocalist Paul Young. The group, kept active with both recording and touring over more than a decade, had their biggest hits during the mid-1980's, with hits such as "Silent Running," "All I Need Is a Miracle," "Taken In," and "The Living Years."
Their 1987 album ‘Living Years’ topped the UK Albums Chart, produced three successful singles, and was certified platinum within three weeks of its release. In 1990, the band released their third album, ‘Word of Mouth’, which was also successful, peaking at # 7 in the UK Albums Chart.
From 1995 onwards, the group have been sporadic in their recording and touring career. The band re-formed in 2008 to tour in celebration of the twentieth anniversary of
