Recess is an artist from San Francisco, California. His music is a mix of hip-hop, funk, jazz and soul. He has released over 10 albums since 1996, while also being featured on various compilations. In 2009, he released the critically acclaimed album, The Outsider, through his self-run label called Urban Sketches. His 2014 album Diversion was praised for its funky beats and melodic style. In addition to releasing albums, Recess has toured with other artists around the world, including a Japan tour in 2009. He has also collaborated with notable artists such as Jurassic 5, Nas, and The Isley Brothers.
