The Isley Brothers are an American group from Cincinnati, Ohio, formed in 1950. Started as a vocal trio consisting of brothers O'Kelly Isley Jr., Rudolph Isley and Ronald Isley, they were performing gospel music, later experimenting with rock, funk, soul, and R&B. Their hit song "It's your thing" brought them the 1969 Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance. The group now consists of two members, Ronald Isley (lead vocals, backing vocals) and Ernie Isley (guitar, bass guitar, drums, percussion).
