TR/ST, also known as Trust, is the genre-bending dance-rock project of Robert Alfons, a Toronto-based electronic singer-songwriter and producer. TR/ST's 2013 debut album, TRST, combined darkly distorted guitars, heavy synths, and electro-dance beats. Its follow-up album Joyland (2014) experimented with an even fuller soundscape, including industrial basslines and haunting vocals. Combining waves of dystopian electronic music, TR/ST has found critical praise for its unique darkwave sound. Alfons released the TR/ST's third album, The Destroyer - Part 1 in 2019 and Part 2 in 2020. Both are masterfully composed works blending synth-pop, industrial, and atmospheric elements. TR/ST has performed at music festivals all over the world, including the Coachella, Primavera Sound, and MUTEK festivals, and its music has been featured on various Netflix and HBO series, as well
