About Zoska
Zoska, born Zofia Kossak-Szczucka on August 10, 1889, in Poland, was a prolific writer and social activist known for her historical novels and staunch resistance efforts during World War II. A devout Catholic, she was deeply involved in humanitarian efforts, co-founding the Polish underground organization Żegota, which was dedicated to aiding Jews during the Holocaust. Her literary works often reflect her strong moral convictions and explore themes of faith and resilience. Despite facing arrest and internment in Auschwitz, Zoska survived the war and continued to write and advocate for social justice until her death in 1968.
