Paris Jackson, daughter of the late pop icon Michael Jackson, has publicly distanced herself from the upcoming biopic titled "Michael," directed by Antoine Fuqua and set for release in April 2026. In a series of Instagram Stories on September 2, 2025, Paris addressed comments made by actor Colman Domingo, who portrays her grandfather Joe Jackson in the film. Domingo had previously stated that Paris and her brother Prince were "very much in support" of the project and that she had been "very helpful" during production.

Contradicting Domingo's claims, Paris stated, "Don't be telling people I was 'helpful' on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird." She elaborated that she had reviewed an early draft of the script, provided feedback on elements she found dishonest, and chose to disengage when her concerns were not addressed. Expressing her disapproval, she remarked, "Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and godspeed." (eonline.com)

Paris further criticized the biopic for catering to a specific segment of her father's fanbase, stating, "The film panders to a very specific section of my dad's fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they're going to be very happy with it." She expressed concerns about the film's accuracy, noting, "There's a lot of inaccuracy and there's a lot of just full-blown lies." (nme.com)

The biopic "Michael" has faced multiple delays and controversies, including reshoots due to legal issues surrounding its portrayal of certain aspects of Michael Jackson's life. The film is now scheduled for release on April 24, 2026. (en.wikipedia.org)
