Rod Stewart, the iconic 81-year-old British rock singer, has announced his final tour, "The Final Encore," set to commence in April 2027. This tour will mark the culmination of over six decades of touring, with performances scheduled across the UK and Europe.
In a heartfelt video message shared on Instagram on September 28, 2026, Stewart stated, "Ladies and gentlemen, after much deliberation and sadness, I have to announce next year will be my last tour ever, ever, ever. I'm not retiring, but this will be the last rock and roll tour." He expressed gratitude to his fans, acknowledging their support throughout his career.
The tour is slated to begin on April 23, 2027, at Dublin's 3Arena, followed by stops in Belfast, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, and London. The European leg includes cities such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, and Munich, concluding on July 24, 2027, in Hannover, Germany. Support for the UK and Ireland dates will come from Howard Jones.
This announcement follows a series of health challenges for Stewart. In August 2026, he underwent a routine coronary stent procedure after nearly fainting during a performance in Utah. This led to the cancellation of his remaining 2026 tour dates and a Las Vegas residency. Despite these setbacks, Stewart assured fans of his recovery and readiness to perform.
Reflecting on his extensive career, Stewart remarked, "I've been singing the music I love since I was 19 years old, and I've had the privilege of taking it around the world to all of you. It has given me a life beyond anything I could ever have imagined, and I hope I've given you some fond memories in return." He emphasized that while this will be his final large-scale tour, he is not retiring from music altogether.
Tickets for "The Final Encore" tour are expected to go on sale in the coming weeks, with fan club presales beginning on September 29, 2026, and general sales following shortly thereafter.
