The Seattle Sounders are set to host CF Montréal at Lumen Field on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 10:30 PM ET (7:30 PM PT). This Major League Soccer (MLS) fixture carries significant implications for both teams as the regular season approaches its conclusion.
Seattle Sounders' Playoff Push
Currently seventh in the Western Conference with a record of 11-10-8 (41 points), the Sounders are striving to solidify their playoff position. Their recent form includes a nine-match unbeaten streak, which was halted by a narrow 1-0 defeat to FC Dallas on October 14. Prior to that loss, Seattle secured a commanding 3-0 victory over the New England Revolution, showcasing their offensive capabilities. Midfielder Cristian Roldan is poised to make his 300th MLS start for the club, becoming the first outfield player in franchise history to reach this milestone. (chopsoc.com)
CF Montréal's Struggles
In contrast, CF Montréal is enduring a challenging season, sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a 6-17-6 record (24 points). The team has suffered four losses in their last five matches, including a 3-0 home defeat to Atlanta United on October 14. Their offensive struggles are evident, having scored only 35 goals this season, tying them with Sporting Kansas City for the league's lowest tally. (mixvale.com.br)
Head-to-Head and Expectations
Historically, the Sounders have had mixed results against Montréal, with a record of 3-6-1 in their previous encounters. However, in their last meeting on April 6, 2024, Seattle dominated with a 5-0 victory at Lumen Field. Given the current form and standings, Seattle enters this match as the favorite. (soundersfc.com)
