Soweto Gospel Choir is a South African choir made up of established church and community choir members. The choir was formed in 2002 by producer Beverly Bryer and has since gone on to win several awards, including two Grammy awards and a Dutch Edison Music Award. Their unique gospel music is a combination of African gospel, negro spirituals and popular South African songs. The choir has toured all over the world and performed alongside a plethora of artists such as Bono, Elvis Costello, and Miley Cyrus, among others. They have released eight studio albums, their most recent 'Freedom' in 2018, which was nominated for a Grammy in the Best World Music Album category. Soweto Gospel Choir is a powerful force in the world of gospel music and is continuing to influence and inspire people around the globe.
