The Johnnys are an Australian rockabilly/psychedelic group from Parramatta, New South Wales. Formed in 1987 by friends Johnny Carrol, Paul Medew and John ‘Swanee’ Swan, the trio spent much of their career gigging around local suburban venues. Their debut album The Johnnys was released in 1989, with its stripped back sound of guitar-heavy rockabilly, blues and raw country rocking the Australian music scene. The Johnnys continued to tour extensively and released a number of albums throughout the 1990s. Their best known singles, "Down On The Corner" and "Don't Mess With The Boys”, were radio staples across the country. The Johnnys remain a popular presence, performing at concerts and festivals in Australia and overseas.
