Jonathan Zwartz is an Australian double bassist, composer, bandleader, educator and record producer. Best known as one of Australia’s leading jazz bassists, he is well respected as a member of the Golden Era Jazz Quartet. He has released 7 albums as a leader, showcasing his mastery of improvisation alongside his signature warm tone.

Jonathan Zwartz has toured nationally with several acts, including the jazz/soul group Ten Part Invention, the Tom Baker Quartet, and the Sharon Person Sextet. He has also performed and recorded with iconic Australian musicians like Don Burrows and Dale Barlow.

He has performed and lectured across the United States and Europe, as well as at numerous festivals across Australia. He is currently the jazz scholar at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and a member of the Australian Art Orchestra.
