Paris is an American hip hop artist from Oakland, California. He first released his debut album The Devil Made Me Do It in 1992 on his own label, Scarface Records. The album was well-received and is now recognized as a classic by rap fans. He followed up with Sleeping With the Enemy in 1994, Guerrilla Funk in 1996 and Unleashed in 1998. His groundbreaking 30-minute anti-police brutality video, Guerrilla Funk, brought Paris national attention. His politically-charged lyrics and skillful production gained him a broader audience and a bigger platform from which to speak. Paris went on to form his own label, Guerrilla Funk Recordings, releasing his ultimate LP, Unleashed, in collaboration with the label. He has collaborated with numerous hip hop and R&B artists, including Tupac, Redman, KRS One, and 2Pac. His influence continues to be felt in the hip hop community, and he remains one of the most beloved and respected MCs of all
